On the northern tip of the Yuragir National Park, Angourie is surrounded by stunning beaches, picnic areas and walking tracks. The famous "Blue Pool" located in a bush setting right near the beach was originally a rock quarry which filled with fresh water when an underground spring was disturbed. It has long been a popular swimming hole, but is sometimes closed to swimming due to algae growth, so check the notices first. The beaches are superb, anyway!

t.co This is the waterproof bag I bought for my Canon VixiaHFS100 camcorder. I told myself I would only use it in the rain and would never take it underwater, but curiosity got the best of me and I had to try it out. I didn’t go deep or stay in the water long, but it did seem to work well. It does have problems with fogging up, I’ve hear throwing in a few packets of silica helps with that. Also one major problem I’ve had with the camera inside the bag is the auto focus has a really hard time. It likes to focus on the lens of the waterproof bag. So plan on using manual focus when you use the bag. I did film the Vixia going into the bag, and explained how to best get the camera in there. I put my ContourHD on the tripod to film it, but as usual my POS helmet camera corrupted all the files so I’m missing that footage. This waterproof bag is pretty handy especially if you want to do some filming in a river or live somewhere with lots of rain, like me in Panama. I would be way to nervous to film for long periods of time underwater like a scuba diving trip or something, but definitely a must have for rainy days or splashy activities. I have the DiCAPac WP-D20 which will fit many types of camcorder with a similar size to the the Canon Vixia HFS100. But this company makes these plastic cases for just about every size of camera. DSLR’s, iPhones everything: t.co and they are much cheaper than a hard case type underwater housing.

Had a beautiful day on the Davidson river near Brevard, NC. One of the top flyfishing rivers in the US, certainly the best in North Carolina. I got to use my new camera, the Panasonic Lumix TS1. This allows me to combine my 2 favorite hobbies: photography and flyfishing. the camera is waterproof to 10 feet.
