The Center for Digital Archaeology offers four-day immersive training in several digital methodologies, including digital photography, multimedia microhistory narratives, and 3D modeling.
This immersive, Digital Imaging for Archaeology, was held on June 8-11, 2011, at the lab of the Center for Digital Archaeology at 2224 Piedmont Avenue, Berkeley, CA. Michael Ashley, PhD. and archaeological photographer, led the students, who ranged from undergraduates to CRM professionals, in developing marketable skills for archaeological research and museum documentation. It involved both studio artifact photography and various field methodologies, including basic camera and processing skills.

Chris Sgaraglino

Good-afternoon Folks,
My name is Chris Sgaraglino and I go by csgaraglino on Nikonians.
By day I am a software engineer. I started an internet software company about 15 years ago (http://www.ilgm.com) and I build and sell an online Content Management System for small to medium sized business to conduct business on the Internet.
I have an equestrian ranch (4 horses) with 65 acres about a hour East of Colorado Springs in a town called Yoder. Last I checked, Yoder is populated with less than 1,600 people. The only ?business? here is the Post Office, oh, well that is unless you count the occasional fruit & vegetable stand.
Nowadays I mostly work out of my office on my ranch, and thus don?t get out too often! Part of the reason for doing this is to get me out more?
I consider myself ?Serious Amateur? wildlife and nature photographer and have been capturing images since getting my first camera in 2000. I specialize in shooting mostly in the Colorado Rocky Mountains while on/with my horses.
My photography has come from my love of the great outdoors and exploring Colorado [and other mountain ranges] with my horses. I have been photographing the outdoors since 2000 with Film and converted to Digital in 2005. I feel that bringing God’s creations to light is one way I can repay Him for allowing me the pleasure to get into country that most cannot.
My passion for wildlife is life-long. For more than four decades I have been exploring the great outdoors from coast-to-coast by hiking, biking, rafting, and on horseback. The conditions under which I works are often daunting: at times I can climb 4 to 5000 feet into the Colorado Wilderness Areas where few folks travel and even fewer photograph these endangered and protected lands. I love to trek for miles through the rugged forest to photograph herds of Rocky Mountain Elk and Big Horn Sheep. I have spent days in a blind to photograph these majestic creatures. I do not view such circumstances as a hardship, being up close to wildlife in its natural environment is what I love. Along with my son & wife, my images and the possibility of inspiring people to care about horses, hunting, wildlife and the protecting of the land are what matter to me most.
You guys are welcome to email me at: chris [at] outdoorstudios.net

Or visit if you are ever in Colorado Springs.
I am looking forward to this project ? I think this will help me tremendously to get out and shoot!
Warm regards,
Chris Sgaraglino
