Question by starwberry: Did you go out into the Black Friday madness?
Getting up early or staying up all night to catch a sale price. Fighting crowds. In recent years, dealing with riots too. Is it really worth it? The only sale that enticed me this year was Old Navy. Still even a free camera wasn’t enough to get me out. Not to mention that I didn’t have a babysitter. Black Friday sales are no place for children.
I had my fill of the sales when I went to Wal-mart years ago. There were several door buster deals that they had pallets of, but you couldn’t get one until six AM. When it was time crowds had swarmed the pallets and dove in like a pride of lions on a kill. It was crazy. I was at one of the pallets and was afraid to reach in for fear I would lose my arm. I value my arm a lot more than a $ 5 waffle maker. (Although, I have to it makes the best waffles.) That feeding frenzy was enough for me.
Now whatever I cannot buy before the season, I get online. Still get deals, but no crowds.
